About Me
I am a qualified and registered integrative therapist and BACP member offering counselling and psychotherapy services throughout Wokingham, Bracknell, and surrounding Berkshire areas. I specialise in working with adults and adolescents using CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and integrative approaches to help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
My journey into therapy began long before I formally trained – it grew from twelve years of working in children’s residential homes, where I realised the impact of fully attending to and listening to someone and creating a safe space for them to be heard.
My Experience
During my time in residential care, I held various roles including residential worker, therapeutic practitioner, group worker, supervisor, and deputy manager of the therapy team. Working with young people who had experienced significant trauma taught me about resilience, the importance of genuine human connection, and how transformative it can be when someone feels truly understood.
This experience led me to pursue formal training in counselling, qualifying as an integrative counsellor in 2017. I have continued developing my practice ever since, and in 2021, I qualified as a clinical supervisor, helping other therapists develop and refine their skills. I have had the privilege of supervising a diverse range of professionals, from trainee therapists to experienced practitioners, including Play Therapists, Family and Systemic Therapists, and Clinical Psychology trainees.
My Approach
My core training was integrative, which means I draw from four main therapeutic modalities: CBT, Person-Centred, Existential, and Psychodynamic approaches. I have since completed additional training in DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
What drives my work is helping individuals make sense of their experiences and find new ways of creating meaning and happiness in their lives. I believe therapy is about supporting people to understand what has happened to them whilst discovering new ways of living – ensuring that past experiences inform their future rather than define it.
One of my favourite moments in therapy is when a client pauses mid-conversation to jot down something we have just explored together. It tells me that the work is truly resonating and that they are finding something valuable enough to hold onto. These moments remind me why I love what I do.

A Bit About Me
When I am not working, you will probably find me walking my cream Golden Retriever twice a day around Bracknell. I also have a ginger cat. I enjoy reading fiction and non-fiction equally, though I have to admit I listen to far too many podcasts – despite knowing the importance of silence and giving our minds a break from being constantly ‘switched on’!
I have a love for stand-up comedy and find real joy in the silliness and ridiculousness of it all. There is something wonderful about finding humour and lightness, which I think translates into my therapeutic work – sometimes we need to find the lighter moments alongside the deeper ones.
Having lived in various places across the South of England – from Yateley and Camberley to Portsmouth during my university years – I have now settled in Bracknell and feel really connected to this community and the surrounding areas.
Why I Do This Work
My path to becoming a therapist was not a sudden revelation but rather a gradual understanding that grew from years of witnessing the power of having someone as a guide, mentor, or therapist. In residential care, I saw how young people could begin to heal and grow when they felt safe, understood, and valued for who they were – not defined by what had happened to them.
That experience taught me that everyone deserves a space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgement, where they can make sense of their experiences, and where they can discover their own capacity for growth and change. This is what I aim to provide in my practice.
